Friction Farm loves listening rooms and festivals. But there are so many other possibilities:
House Concerts The intimacy of a small gathering of friends, up close and personal… there really is no better way to experience music. If you have a living room (or back porch or a community room nearby) Aidan and Christine would love to make music there. If you are new to house concerts, we can help.
Farm to Table A smaller, shorter, usually midweek version of a house concert. Christine loves to cook. Let her make dinner for you and a small group of friends before the concert. We can talk about the ideal recipes.
Songs Inspired by Books Ideal for libraries, book clubs and literacy programs. Friction Farm will perform songs and describe how each book inspired a song. The songs are, for the most part, not about the books. The books provided a catalyst for creative thought sometimes a very direct path to a song and sometimes a very circuitous route connecting stories, real-life events, and imagination. Tell Me A Story Ideal for libraries, camps, schools and more. Aimed at young readers ages six to nine, but kids vary. Before playing a song, Friction Farm will read a very short selection from a book and briefly share how each book inspired a song and invite kids to share their ideas about a book. Soundtrack to History The songs of the twentieth century were informed by current events and ethos of the day. But music changes us, and we change the world. Friction Farm discusses events and performs music of a century tracing themes of conflict, civil rights, economics, and the environment.

Workshops Choose from a variety of participatory workshops on songwriting, music as a neurological tool, and lectures on sustainability topics.
Custom Songs A personal song is a great gift. A&C would love to create a song for a special occasion – birthday, anniversary, etc. You provide some details, they’ll provide a song.
